1 September 2026 by

Promoted under the EPIC Championships umbrella, the Spanish Winter Championship has become an integral part of its single-seater ecosystem, providing teams and drivers with valuable competitive mileage during the winter months. Following two editions of continued growth, the championship heads into its third season with a proven format designed to combine preparation, development and competitive racing ahead of the main European season, with the support of the Royal Spanish Motorsports Federation (RFEDA).

The 2027 season will kick off at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve on 12–14 February, before moving to Circuito de Madrid Jarama-RACE on 26–28 February. The third and final round will take place at MotorLand Aragón on 12–14 March.

Each event will follow the following structure:

  • 1 Official Previous Test in F4 (60 min) & 2 Official Previous Test in E3 (40 min each)
  • 2 Free Practice sessions ONLY in F4 (30 minutes each)
  • 2 Qualifying sessions (20 minutes each)
  • 3 races:
    • Race 1 – 30 minutes + 1 lap, based on Q1 results
    • Race 2 – 20 minutes + 1 lap, with a Top-12 Reverse Grid from Q1
    • Race 3 – 30 minutes + 1 lap, based on Q2 results

Pole positions award 2 points, while each race grants 1 point for the fastest lap, ensuring competitive running throughout every session of the weekend.

Reaching our third season shows how quickly the Spanish Winter Championship has established itself as an important part of the EPIC Championships ecosystem,” said Marco Rodríguez, General Manager of the Spanish Winter Championship. “The concept has proven its value for both teams and drivers, combining meaningful track time with a genuinely competitive environment at a key moment of the year. Our aim for 2027 is to continue building on that foundation and provide the best possible platform to prepare for the season ahead
