The new Spanish Winter Championship has kicked off brilliantly at the Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto, featuring two categories, Eurocup-4 and Eurocup-3, and a total of six races in which some names have shone brightly.
Jan Przyrowski (Griffin Core by Campos) emerged as the standout performer in E4, securing two victories from pole position in both long races—his first wins in the category—while René Lammers (MP Motorsport) claimed victory in the weekend’s sprint race.
Vivek Kanthan (Campos Racing), Thomas Strauven (Campos Racing), Christopher El Feghali (Drivex), and Nathan Tye (Rodin Motorsport) were among the other notable names of the weekend, completing the various podiums.
Regarding the rookies, not only did El Feghali and Kanthan—who leads among the newcomers—make a strong impression in E4, but Red Bull Junior Team driver Niklas Schaufler, Brazilian driver Miguel Costa, and Portuguese driver Noah Monteiro, all competing for Campos Racing, along with Richard Mille Young Talent Academy 2024 winner Ean Eyckmans (MP Motorsport), showcased their talent by stepping onto the rookie podium in Jerez.
In Eurocup-3, first-year drivers made a bold statement on the Andalusian track.
Mattia Colnaghi and Andrés Cárdenas (MP Motorsport), along with Maciej Gladysz (KCL by MP Motorsport), secured victories in what turned out to be a perfect weekend for the Dutch outfit.
Three other rookies—James Egozi (Palou Motorsport), Juan Cota (Drivex), and Jules Caranta (Red Bull Junior Team with Campos Racing)—tasted podium success alongside a 2024 regular podium finisher, Emerson Fittipaldi.
After six exciting races, three per category, Jan Przyrowski leads the E4 Spanish Winter Championship with 63 points, followed by René Lammers with 40. Vivek Kanthan (37), Thomas Strauven (34), and Nathan Tye (30) complete the top five.
Meanwhile, the 2024 Spanish F4 Champion, Mattia Colnaghi, leads the E3 Spanish Winter Championship with 47 points, just four ahead of Maciej Gladysz. Andrés Cárdenas and James Egozi (26 points) and Juan Cota (25 points) round out the top five after the inaugural event.
