Final round of Spanish Winter Championship set for MotorLand Aragón

12 March 2026 by

The Spanish Winter Championship heads to MotorLand Aragón this weekend for the third and final round of the 2026 season, bringing the winter series to a close at one of Spain’s most demanding and modern racing venues. After the opening round at Portimão and the second event at Circuito de Madrid Jarama-RACE, the championship now arrives in Aragón with both Eurocup-4 and Eurocup-3 titles still to be decided.

Located near the city of Alcañiz, MotorLand Aragón has established itself as one of the most complete circuits on the international calendar. Designed by Hermann Tilke with the collaboration of former Formula 1 driver Pedro de la Rosa, the track measures 5.345 kilometres and features 18 corners run in an anti-clockwise direction.

The layout combines long straights with flowing high-speed sections and technical braking zones, creating a circuit that demands both precision and racecraft. The fast and rhythmic middle sector requires drivers to maintain momentum through a sequence of quick corners, while the long back straight leads into one of the circuit’s most important overtaking opportunities under heavy braking. The technical final sector then rewards drivers capable of maximising traction on corner exit, making car balance and tyre management key factors throughout the weekend.

Championship battles heading into the finale

After two rounds of competition, the championship fights remain open as the drivers prepare for the decisive Aragón weekend.

In Eurocup-3, Keanu Al Azhari arrives at the final round leading the standings with 100 points, having shown remarkable consistency across the opening events. Behind him, James Egozi sits in second place with 67 points, while Alex Powell remains firmly in contention in third with 49 points. René Lammers follows closely with 46 points, and Enzo Tarnvanichkul completes the top five on 39 points, highlighting how competitive the field has been throughout the winter campaign.

Eurocup-4, the standings were significantly shaped by the Jarama round, where Noah Monteiro delivered a standout performance with a double victory in Madrid. The Portuguese driver now leads the championship with 90 points, followed by Nathan Tye on 74 points. Behind them, Vivek Kanthan holds third place with 53 points, closely followed by Andrej Petrovic on 52, while Reno Francot rounds out the top five with 44 points heading into the final event of the season.
